Today I just logged in, starting up my PC, and as you do when your board and you have a monitor and no one to talk to, try...at least. I try that with Skype... 8,000,000,00 users online almost at all times have been locked out today by what at first was call a P2P error, but later comfirmed by Skype limited as "it’s a software issue."
Many people including me have tried to log in to no avail and so people are now stuck with crappy voice audio and video services like Gtalk from Google, and MSN.
For people who don't know what Skype is a Voice over Internet Protocol, also called VoIP, IP Telephony, Internet telephony, Broadband telephony, Broadband Phone and Voice over Broadband is the routing of voice conversations over the Internet or through any other IP-based network. Skype has a very nice quality of VoIP and (sometimes) even sounds like someone is in the room with you....wooooohhhh.
Skype released the following statement on there heart-beat blog saying:
"UPDATED 14:02 GMT: Some of you may be having problems logging into Skype. Our engineering team has determined that it’s a software issue. We expect this to be resolved within 12 to 24 hours. Meanwhile, you can simply leave your Skype client running and as soon as the issue is resolved, you will be logged in. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Additionally, downloads of Skype have been temporarily disabled. We will make downloads available again as quickly as possible."
So if Skype Ldt makes a habbit of this, what will be the next installment of OMRpodcast?
12 - 24 hours is nearly up and I need to talk to people!!!!?!?!
If you would like to talk to me on this matter please skyp.... oh yeh.
