Well, well, well, I see people on Wikipedia have been very busy over the last few weeks, and on that note so have Electronic Arts and editing there own wikipedia articals. I was using something that tracks IP adresses that make changes to articals, and it just so happened that EA changed some stuff about how long there employees work from this: (words in bold have been changed)
Electronic Arts has from time to time been criticized for its employment policy of requiring employees to work extraordinarily long hours; up to 65 hours per week; as a general rule and not just at "crunch" times leading up to the scheduled releases of products. "The current mandatory hours are 9am to 10pm; seven days a week; with the occasional Saturday evening off for good behaviour (at 6:30pm), http://www.livejournal.com/users/ea_spouse/.
To this:
Electronic Arts has from time to time been criticized for asking some employees to work long hours. The company has since settled a [class action] lawsuit brought by game artists to compensate for "unpaid overtime" EA management demanded of its....
Different really.
At some points mention of the previous name of the company Amazin' Games were removed under the editing reason of "typos", so here are the best bit from "typos":
BEFORE
Strategy and Marketing. Hawkin's founded the company in the summer of 1982 with a personal investment of US$200,000. His tentative name for his newly found company was ''Amazin' Software''. This name was universally disliked by other early members of the company and was soon changed.
AFTER:
Strategy and Marketing. Hawkins founded the company in the summer of 1982 with a personal investment of US$200,000. His original name for his newly found company was ''Amazin' Software''.
Biiggg typo then.
Oh well, EA is a big company they must care about there image status for now... BIG TYPO!

Bioshock OUT!
IT'S OUT! And the collectors edition looks MASSIVE! Coming with a Big Daddy figure and plenty of other things, this seems to be the best C.E. that I have seen, and not only the best game yet to now hit the XBOX 360, some people say there is a PS3 release soon, but I still think it should just be a XBOX 360 and PC game, the port to PS3 would be a bit less un-heart-en-ing.The view of this prototype make the Big Daddy figure look a bit less snaztastic, and like it hasn't been painted very well, or its all made out of plastic. Anyway, when I get my hands on this game I will report back, over and out, Olly.

Skype is DOWN!
Today I just logged in, starting up my PC, and as you do when your board and you have a monitor and no one to talk to, try...at least. I try that with Skype... 8,000,000,00 users online almost at all times have been locked out today by what at first was call a P2P error, but later comfirmed by Skype limited as "it’s a software issue."
Many people including me have tried to log in to no avail and so people are now stuck with crappy voice audio and video services like Gtalk from Google, and MSN.
For people who don't know what Skype is a Voice over Internet Protocol, also called VoIP, IP Telephony, Internet telephony, Broadband telephony, Broadband Phone and Voice over Broadband is the routing of voice conversations over the Internet or through any other IP-based network. Skype has a very nice quality of VoIP and (sometimes) even sounds like someone is in the room with you....wooooohhhh.
Skype released the following statement on there heart-beat blog saying:
"UPDATED 14:02 GMT: Some of you may be having problems logging into Skype. Our engineering team has determined that it’s a software issue. We expect this to be resolved within 12 to 24 hours. Meanwhile, you can simply leave your Skype client running and as soon as the issue is resolved, you will be logged in. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Additionally, downloads of Skype have been temporarily disabled. We will make downloads available again as quickly as possible."
So if Skype Ldt makes a habbit of this, what will be the next installment of OMRpodcast?
12 - 24 hours is nearly up and I need to talk to people!!!!?!?!
If you would like to talk to me on this matter please skyp.... oh yeh.

New iMac!
The New iMac 08
Just saw the new iMac...and I think the other model looks better, the previous iMac. I don't really like the black boarder around the screen, why couldn't Apple just leave it all white, but they of course needed to change the look of the screen, but it has got some good specs for the very thin size of this iMac.
The iMac 08 will have a 2.8GHz processor ATI graphics's card, built in wireless, 20 to 24 inch screen standard and hard drives ranging from 100GB to 1TB.
The one thing I love about Apple is they always like to stereo-type PC's... for example and this is on there website is this image of the new Apple iMac 08:Look at how uncluttered it is for the first image... then they have another picture of a Dell XPS 410... LOOK AT HOW MANY WIRES THERE ARE... and a Dell XPS is entirely the opposite of the iMac.

Plinky Plonkey
Today I went to to beach, and did my first ever outdoor podcast, and on the beach! Whoo check out POD16 on www.openmicradio.co.nr and be amazed... anyway hence to the title of this, watching this wife swap stylee program that's American called Trading Spouses on Living 2 (Virgin Media C: 112) and like all American programs it has the MOST ANNYOING music EVER! I was watching desperate housewifes on channel 4, and same type of plinky plonkey music, and also another thing, the way they are all edited, you have them interviewed and there daily life, just as if its some sort of film, and when something really gay happens then here comes the sad music.
Speaking of GAYS! Gay (woops) Pride Parade in Brighton and just sooo happened to drive by, and please, for the love of god DON'T! Men with something, or that matter nothing at all is highly desturbing, and seeing men in hot lether red trouses half naked looking like this:
Anyway have fun and enjoy your gays :-)

Watta Day!
Well, i'm back, and more pissed off than ever, once again its a talltastic tale about oh look, Reigate School...anyways, i'm coming out of French (by the way this story is old but I want to post it anyways HAHAHAH) and this twat jake hassle or I dunno, (his name doest even deserve capital letters...) and minding my own bisness like you do when your walking to another lesson, I suddenly realise that I have forgotten my coat AGGGHHH. So I turn back to where i'm sitting and oh look its ugly ears, (he looks like dumbo) and he's holding my coat... so as he is a chav I don't have a clue what he's saying so I try and translate that, and he's probally saying something like you left your coat here (rough trans.: u left ur coat here u wanka.)
So there I am and he has my coat, and him being annoying and all, all of a sudden thinks that its a football of some sort and kicks it to the other side of the room, oh fo shizzle.
So I say and I quote "Well, that was really clever jake, well done" - end sarcasm there.
And being all chav he says "go on dan, say dat again u fuka" so I get my coat and he comes up to me, and I tell you he has the most stinky breath ever, I mean not only when chavs push up to your face and generally the rest of your body like that you have to take into account that there breath STINKS! So he says whatever the crap chav lingo he says about 5 time, (I sware he got a bit of a stuck record, maybe he couldn't afford a good CD player?) and decides that now I have been gassed with the breath he will take control of my body and magically chuck me out of the room, and into the door, and out into the hall with 500 other eye witnesses (please note that in the same room while this is all going on is are French teacher, well done miss, have a sticker!) and I get pushed some more by the stinky menace and out of the blue (and this is uncalled for) the bitch punches me clean in the fu**ing face... ****ing, b*stard s**tty, mother**cking, bi*ch face!
So, after that happens I have a huge bruise on my face, and not only has it felt like a brick wall has slammed into my but the **cker has run off.
So after the turd has been found, flushed out of a lesson maybe, hold the pun :), I first get to see the most fantastically funny picture of the arse when he was in year 7, ha not smiling now are you! So, he is found, and the head of year gets the story's strait, and low and behold the arsehole has made up some fake story about how I managed to punch him in the stomach...really...anyway so I tell miss and oh goodie, she believes dumbo! WTF... theres like 500 other f**king eye witnesses and they all saw what the f**k happened! WTF...
So in the end the basta*d gets excluded for a day...a day he should get a bloody azbo and get taken to court for all I care he should get expelled all together, the f**king scum who crowd up the (where not the best school in the county, where the best school for behaviour in the whole universe) according to the 10/10 Ofsted report, a fu*king 0/10 would be more realistic, and guess what, the next day, the bit*h shows up again, and sitting right next to me, and as if he has learnt his lesson for nearly knocking all my teeth out...
So in context it was a very s*it day, and all thanks to Jake Hassle or whatever the **ckers name was, thanks... bitch.
"me name iz jack hassle and aye av really large earz a shizzle phone, and r z chav dat aye could juz explode"
School
It’s so sunny outside, and I’m at school wondering…Why is this taking so long?
Almost sixteen years of routine. It’s true that school is great because it prepares our future, but it seems to me that the educating system has stopped in time. School is boring most of the time, and it’s not motivating. Isn’t it wrong? Isn’t school supposed to make us WANT to learn, and not always feel like we HAVE to learn, study, pratice, be evaluated… I’ve always had fun learning new things. To me, it was always interesting. But school brought us to a certain point where all we do is forced, mendatory. Rare are those student that work because they feel like it, and even more rare are those who are actually volontary to do more than what was asked. This is not the way educating is supposed to go, is it? Today’s educating mentallity is completely nonsens, incomprehensible. What’s the use of forcing students to work? Those who don’t want to, just won’t ever, no matter what educators do. And the more educators force them, more the lazy students won’t want to work. And when that happens the applicated students will feel more and more pressured, thinking that what the teachers say concerns them. In general, teachers have the habit to get mad at the whole class, when few of them are responsible for the mess and disorder. They blame all student for something that doesn’t praticularly concern others. In plus, their only reference to juge a student is from what they see, and the vision is not a strong enough instrument to make a opinion. It hurts to realize that some refuse to see efforts we do, and that they only see our mistakes. To me, school is the center of injustice. And I simply just can’t tolerate that. I can’t wait untill I’m out.

Daxter...
Well, after much thought, I finally got the game Daxter, and playing through it I think its probably the best RPG on the PSP so far, as I have never played the Jak & Daxter games before, I thought I would be left out, but they ease you into the series and make you feel like your at home with the game.
I'm just playing though it all so my guess is as good as mine to how its going to play, but so far I think it will give my needs a much good and needed thumbexercise.
I'll post up a review soon!
Oh and sorry for not posting on the blog for along time.

Go!Cam Go
In PSP news, the latest GO! Cam is coming out tommorow, and funny enough i'm buying one!
So i'm buying SONY's bum-chum, who cares, as long as the video and pictures don't suck that much, it should be a good waste of money...
Some features from SONY's offical press-release are:
Launching across Europe on May 16, the PSP Camera combines existing PSP functionality with the ability to take your own movies and photos.
This nifty piece of kit fits neatly into place on top of your PSP and incorporates a microphone for continuous audio recording, plus a vertical, 180 degree mount to position the camera lens either facing you - as you look into the screen - or directly away.
Capacity varies based on resolution and the size of Memory Stick Duo being used, but on a 4GB Memory Stick you can easily capture over two hours of video or 40,000 photos.
To make full use of the hardware and support your creativity, Go!Cam comes with access to Go!Edit, an editing software package with the ability to enhance your movies and photos with sound and graphical effects. System Software 3.00 is required to use both the PSP Camera and Go!Edit, which can be downloaded for free.
Building upon existing PSP functionality, especially connectivity, Go!Edit also allows the option to upload creations onto the internet directly from your PSP, letting you share your masterpieces with the world.

I Found it on the Floor
A few weeks ago, and I forgot to blog this, I found a CD-R in the middle of a pathway, its was on the walk back with Christopher and so walking back from school. And I notice this disk lying on the ground, now this may not seem very strange, but what was on the front of the disk made me think, humm what would be on this disk. Now I am now going to tell you what is on the disk.
NOW THATS WHAT I CALL BOLLOCKS....
I know, it is a strange thing to find lying on the floor on the walk back from school, but what the hell. And when trying to play this disk, it did work...after cleaning it with a special wipe and a disk scratch cleaner.
And to this day I don't know where that disk went, I put it down, and I wake up and I don't know where it is, but I did rip the 15 tracks from the CD to my computer. And there was 20 tracks on there. Some that are hilarious, and others well, there not so bad.
I have no idea why there was this CD on the ground but all I know is that it was there, it worked when I took it home, and it was a bit of a story. If you where the owner of that CD and where near Reigate area, please comment.

The PlayStation 3
As many people know, the PlayStation 3 was released today in Europe, as some people are quite exited about this, I thought I would give an in depth view into the PlayStation 3.
The release was meant to be in November 2006, and problems in the normal SONY way, was delayed to MARCH 2007. SONY recently came along in the GDC (Game Developers Confrence) SONY keynote, and released the fantastic service, HOME. HOME is a kind of better looking Sims, and in a Second Life context, it lets people enable to chat, and stream live media in a virtual world.
HOME has a realistic physics engine, and was demonstrated memorially with the guy doing it at GDC by dropping a SONY BRAVIA TV down the stairs.
HOME is currently in Beta, and is being released for testing to a huge 15,000 people, and unlikely known if it will be released here for testing in the UK. But good things come with downsides, so SONY was incredibly annoying by making the backwards compatibility, dead...really that's just how to describe it, but they got rid of the service like the annoying buggers they are, in there pixie SONY offices and...urmmm, yeh.
The launch titles are interesting though, and the one that caught by beady little eye yesterday peering though the glass of a store window, and Motor Storm looks fantastic, and so does Formula 1, and the graphics for F1 are phenomenal! When I saw the trailer last year, I thought it wasn't a game, they also have damage which really is the perfect thing to go with any racing game. I mean like, Grand Turismo, Polyphony Digital has always promised, DAMAGE! But nooooo.
The PSP-to-PS3 connectivity is good with the console to, that really is the topping on the cake, use your PSP as a second screen or perhaps a second controller, which you won't get the 6-axis control, still would be good if you want to play PS3 anywhere around your house.
The 6-Axis is a Nintendo Wii idea, and yes, as normal, SONY has nicked all the ideas from Microsoft and Nintendo.
Nintendo: The Wii like control or 6-Axis
Microsoft: Same LIVE service
There was a previous version of the PS3 controller that looked like a boomerang, but was changed due to health and safety reasons, we don't want people in white coats observing you while you play do you. So a more Duleshock 2 control was re-made.
The other things that SONY has done is made no one buy the console by making it so expensive that no one will buy it. When the PS3 went on pre-order on Amazon, and when the Wii went up for pre-order it was 5 minuets before they were sold out. But the PS3's never really shifted, it was well, more than 2 weeks 3 weeks before they really where sold to a compleat extent. So alough I think I will never really by the magical wonder box, I do think that I would by a Wii.

New Money
Ohh, goodie! The new £20 is in a series. Yes, going to a cash point I came across one of the new £20 note.
The new note will signal the start of a new series of notes which will come into circulation next spring.
BEFORE:
AFTER:
The UK's most common banknote was today set for a relaunch as newly-designed £20 notes hit the streets for the first time since 1999.
The Bank of England's new note will bear the image of 18th century economist Adam Smith, renowned for his Wealth of Nations analysis on free markets.
Customers at the cash machine will find the new £20 in a brighter purple colour to make it more recognisable, although it will be the same size as its predecessor.
The new note will also feature a larger silver hologram and metallic thread recognition strip to combat fraudsters as well as a new security colour tag which shows up under ultra-violet light.
Around 350,000 forged £20 notes were discovered last year.
The Bank of England's chief cashier Andrew Bailey said: "We do not have a serious counterfeiting problem in this country, but because it is the most common note it is the one that has proved most attractive to counterfeiters."
There are 1.3bn £20 notes currently in circulation designed with a portrait of composer Sir Edward Elgar, which will gradually be phased out over the next two years.
According to UK payments association Apacs, the £20 note accounted for 66% of all notes dispensed by British cash machines in the last quarter of 2006.
Spokeswoman Sandra Quinn said: "Most of us are likely to see one of these new £20 notes at a cash machine as it's where many of these new notes will first be dispensed.
"We are all still carrying around quite a bit of cash because, despite our continuing love affair with our cards, cash remains first choice for small value payments such as for a pint of milk or our morning paper."
The £10 note is the second commonest note, with 550m in circulation, and carries the picture of natural scientist Charles Darwin, famous for his theory of natural selection.
The £5 note was the last note to be relaunched in May 2002, featuring a picture of prison reformer Elizabeth Fry.
